The Wall

Description

Somewhat inspired by some examples of french strategy during the second world war, some clever politicians decided to build a wall to protect the land from the rising waters. The decision was made in the middle of the 21st century that all coastlines would be reinforced by a wall, a high dam, using a revolutionary technology that would allow the wall to be high and still to resist the enormous mass of water. In places where the coastline was naturally endowed with an efficient protection, e.g. a cliff, no wall would be built, but everywhere else it had to be erected. For three whole years they slaved away day after day, and finally the crazy project was completed. It has now been 10 years since the waters rose. The wall of life as it was called, lasted 2 weeks. Half of the inhabited lands got submerged, millions of people drowned and billions lost their homes. The cliffs are still there and the water just made its way around them taking the wall as it went. But it's ok now, some other politicians are working a project to freeze the poles again so as to lower the sea level.

Where is this cliff face? Reminds me of a dream I once had.
